On the late afternoon of Sunday, April 24, 2022, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle near the intersection of Tanque Verde Road and Sabino Canyon in Tucson, Arizona. The poor woman that was ran over was identified as Sierra Waters. The intoxicated driver did stop his vehicle and cooperated with the police. However, the driver was impaired at the time of the collision and may very well be charged with vehicular manslaughter under A.R.S. §13-1103. The case is still under investigation, but the charges are very likely to be imposed against this driver.
We offer our condolences to the family of this accident victim. This intersection is quite wide and it is very easy to spot a pedestrian. As such, this accident could have been avoided.
